Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that.
What car/stereo do you have?
It is a stock Infinity system in a 2012 Kia Optima. As I stated, the metadata was displayed using my Xperia z2 and z2.
When checking Kias website, there seems to be two options available for this car. Do you have a sound system or a full navigation system in your car?
Could you check if the navigation system has the latest firmware?
Checking Kias website, i found this article: http://kia.navigation.com/cms/page.softwareupdate/en_GB/KiaEMEA/SEK
I'm sorry to hear that you had to pay for the update. It thought it was a free update as it could be downloaded from their website.
I will see if i can find any information on what could cause this. It works fine when i test it here with a bluetooth speaker so it seems it might be compatibility related. Was your Z2 on Android 6 when you tested with that phone?
The Map/firmware updates are through a third party and always cost money. What site were you referring to where it could have been downloaded? Yes, my Z2 was on Android 6. Thank you for all your assistance, much appreciated
It was on the site i mentioned above, http://kia.navigation.com/cms/page.softwareupdate/en_GB/KiaEMEA/SEK. There you can download the latest firmware, place it on a USB-memory and then update the unit using that. But it does say that if your unit is on a version older than 5.1.3 (current version is 7.5.8), the update needs to be done by a dealer. I was not aware that they would charge you that amount as the update if free on their website so i'm very sorry.
If needed, would you be willing to take some logs from your phone when it connects to your car, you start to play a song and then send those to me?
