Hi,
I recently switched over from Canon to Sony gear. I have an A7RIII and a few G master lenses. I am having trouble with settings from time to time. To be honest, i haven't learned anything yet on the camera, and i only know a few small things so far. I know i am jumping the gun a bit, but i think there are too many bells and whistles on this Sony camera. It seems a bit complicated. Buttons all over the place. The layout could have been a bit more simple, like the canon cameras. I just purchased a sony G 90mm macro lens, and i would like to know how to set up the camera to shoot macro. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Hi berhenne52,
I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi berhenne52,
Congrats! I've heard good reviews about this camera. I'm not an expert as well, but I've been checking the Sony website for any useful info related to Macro shooting and found this Guide: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/e-mount-body-ilce-7-series/ilce-7rm3/articles/00223368
It's pretty good and should help you to start off with the basics. Also, make sure you select the Direct manual focus mode. It'd be suitable for this type of shooting.

Best thing you can do is keep using the camera and lens until you become familiar with it.
Yes it takes a while to set up/customising those buttons and the FN sub menu, but once you have it to your liking its pretty qick and easy to use.
There are some great tutorials on youtube, tony & chelsea Northrup did a nice and simple guide here:
