I got the A7III now, and I can tell anyone reading here that the AA filter IS present but it's a week one, so you will notice sharper images, but also just a little more prone to moiré. I think this is the very best compromise they could make. The tiny bit of moiré will not bother anyone, and the sharpness gained is just very welcome!
Perfect for me. It was very nice to discover and I would have MUCH preferred to have known before I bought it, instead of this ridiculous secrecy, practically making those of us who are concerned buying the camera blind.
