A6000 VF/Monitor sensor too sensitive

I have an A6000. The sensor that switches the monitor off when you raise the camera to your eye is way too sensative. it is constantly triggered by proximity to my body and, at times, by the camera strap. THis has become a real issue for me as I do not want to have to turn auto off, and have to switch between modes. Today I missed what I hope would have been a great shot because of this.

I would like to feed this information back to Sony. I am not alone in this and, as yet, have found no solution.

It has got me to the point of considering another brand.

Hi daggilarr,

Are you using the eye piece that comes with the camera with the viewfinder?

Cheers,

Hi I watched a video on YouTube whereby someone covered the sensor with black electrical tape up to 3/4 of the sensor from bottom up . this seemed to work for them way less sensitive but still works when you put your eye to it. I know this is not a professional solution from sony but might help you out in the mean time.
