Sony phone has put its own passcode on

Just got a new sony xperia 10 phone, within an hour the phone has put a passcode on, have tried the stand code but its not working, I have not set a passcode.

Please can anyone help me to remove it.

Maybe it is just the SIM card code.

Halt the device, remove the SIM card and start again.

Maybe it is the lock code from you old device that has been restored from the backup?
