I can see horizontal bands when watching any HDR material on the 75XD9405. It was reported on another forum that the 75XE 2017 model has received a firmware update that cures the problem.
Will the 75XD9405 receive an update to cure the problem ? Has anyone else had this problem?

It's possible an update is upcoming for your TV but we would have no way of knowing in advance. If you keep an eye on this forum, updates are frequently discussed here when they happen.
Hopefully it will happen pretty soon!

The problem is has anyone else reported the problem. If I'm the only one then it's not going to get a fix. I don't hold out hope unless I know there are others out there with the same problem.
