Missing Freeview HD
Hi,
Just taken delivery of a KDL 40EX724 which according to the Sony site today has Freeview HD. I can only find the standard freeview channels.
Anyone else experienced this or has any ideas?

Has your region gone through digital switchover?

Hi catmambo
Yes, analogue was cut off at the end of March. Even so would there not be some indication on the set that the set is Freeview HD ready but no stations are available?

I’m having the same issue today 9 years later now that Freeview have changed the frequencies.

This might be due to the clearing of the 700MHz bands to allow for 5G network installation, which is pretty normal.
Have you tried returning for the channels or failing that; contacting an aerial/antenna specialist to check if your aerial is Freeview HD ready after the 5G network installation rules?

That’s exactly what the problem is. However the aerial is working fine because the other three TV’s in the house (not Sony Android) are finding the channels without problem; as was the Sony TV before they changed the broadcasts. But I don’t know why, just the Sony TV isn’t finding the HD channels?

That seems rather odd. Have you tried tuning without the aerial to "flush" the tuner and then tuning it again?

Yes. The freeview helpline suggested as such.
Sony emailed and told me to try something which I’ve done and it has not fixed the issue. It’s so bizarre.
