I was wondering if there is any way to set a max volume on the Sony DN1050 or any of the newer models.
I got a hands on kid, and the biggest most attractive looking ***** on the DN1050 is the volume control. Before my kid loses his hearing and my high end speakers are broken it would be great to set a volume limit.
Been trying to search without success, so far it looks like such an important function is not available for any of the Sony A/V receivers.
Hi there, welcome to the Sony Community
As far as I know there is no way to set an upper limit to the volume on this model.
Having been faced with a similar situation several times, I've either attenuated the volume of the source component (not completely ideal but it works for everyday use) and/or manually setting the receiver volume, hiding the remote (!) and using only the component remote to control volume.
Sorry it's not a more elegant solution, but I hope it's of some help.
Cheers
Mick
Thanks for the reply, Its pity when the volume is clearly digital that they don't add a function for setting max volume. Does Sony read the community forum or is there anywhere to send this as a request in a firmwear update?
On a second note has anyone tryed and removed the volume wheel? Wondering if it will break if i try and pull it off.
