Kdl 805a no sound on tv function with a DAV-IS50
Cannot get sound when in tv function does work
When playing dvd
But sound turns off in tv function
Any ideas !!!!!!

Yes using hdmi in arc and digital op cable from surround sound
To tv a
As soon as you turn function to tv
The speakers on the tv turn off yet nothing out

Does work when using dvd

Using the HDMI connection to ARC will not work, as the DAV-IS50 does not have the same ARC port.
Seeing that you have connected it via optical (which is the correct way for this device by the way), you need to ensure the TV is outputting via "Digital Audio Out (Optical)" and that TV Speakers is set to "Audio System" (or something like that). So just check your TV settings anyhow.
Also turn ON Bravia Sync (Control for HDMI) for both TV and Sound system
