Hi
I've just brought a Nvidia shield and I'm trying to see if I'm getting dolby anything.
When I press the display button all it says is hdmi 2
Is there anyway to find out or am I doing something wrong?
Hi Phairgamer,
I’m in the process of checking this with the relevant team and this thread will be updated as soon as I have a response.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi Phairgamer,
I suggest pressing on the "Audio" button on the remote, this will show the audio signal on the front panel display. Also, make sure you are using an optical cable or an HDMI via ARC port so that you can get Dolby digital.
Hope this helps,

Hi
If I use the tv to watch netflix ect which is hooked up via arc I see it show the audio type.
Why can't I see the audio type when using a device hooked up via hdmi 2?
Hi Phairgamer,
This is because the Audio return channel is needed in order to get Dolby digital.
If you have more than one device connected to the TV, it's better to the ARC port for the soundbar unless you're going to use the optical cable.

Sorry this must be some confusion here.
Why is I hook up a device via hdmi can I not see what audio type is being played?
Are you saying I should very thing through the tv then pass the audio via arc?
Hi Phairgamer,
Yes that would be the best way to solve this I guess. Connecting all devices to the TV and the TV to the soundbar via ARC.
Hope this helps,
