Hi All,
I bought my Sony HT-A9000 soundbar around 8 months ago, connected with my Bravia TV and SW5 subwoofer. It worked fine for the first few months, but recently it developed a serious issue:
The white indicator light flashes constantly.
When this happens, the soundbar becomes completely unresponsive.
It does not connect via Bluetooth, HDMI, or the Bravia Connect app.
Factory reset attempts do not respond at all.
I’ve already sent the unit to Sony’s authorised service centre twice. Both times they reported “no fault found”, but the problem came back immediately when I tested it at home.
What makes this more frustrating is that Sony Customer Service keeps telling me to return it to the service centre again, even though this clearly hasn’t solved anything. I’ve provided photos, videos, and even requested escalation, but my concerns are being ignored.
My questions to the community:
Has anyone else experienced this issue with the HT-A9000?
If so, did you manage to find a real solution?
What else can I do to get Sony to actually take this problem seriously?
Is there a direct way to raise a complaint with Sony management? I honestly cannot find one, which is insane for a company of this size.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

Did you buy the HT-A9000 direct from Sony, if not your first port of call for any in warranty repairs would be the retailer that sold you the unit.
The white flashing indicators on the unit aren't necessarily an indication of something wrong, if the unit
detects a fault it would flash in red.

Scroll down the page and click on Download PDF.
When the page has loaded up got to pages 12 and 13, which describe what the different indicators mean.
There you can decide what form of flashing white indicator you are getting
and see if the description gives you a clue as to what the soundbar is telling you.
You can also choose to save the manual to your computer, for convenience.
I bought my HT-A9000 from Currys.
I’ve read through the manual, but my issue not covered.
In my case, main indicator white light keeps flashing again shortly after the initial setup, then soundbar not responding at all
This is exactly why I’ve already sent the unit for inspection, but every time engineers report no faults.
I tried everything:
reset router, use 2.4GHz only, and removing special characters from SSID. None of this made any difference.
Sony CS has not been helpful. They keep telling me to “replicate the fault” , but the problem doesn’t appear immediately — it usually takes a day or two. That means I cannot reproduce it on demand.
At this point, I feel the HT-A9000 may have underlying issues that Sony hasn’t fully addressed yet, as it’s still a relatively new product.
