Connecting a tv and now box and 4k bluray player to sound bar

Simple question about connecting sound bar to tv now box and 4k bluray player. I have an ARC port on my tv.

If i use the arc port  on the tv will I be able to get surround sound audio from my soundbar when watching digital tv and the now box which is HDMI 2. Do i need to run a hdmi cable to the audio hdmi to the soundbar from my 4k bluray player? How do i connect it to the digital tv setting or do i have to select arc HDMI?

Hello @photocap,

you need to connect a ARC-HMDI-cable from your TV to the soundbar and connect all the other devices (4K-Blu-Ray-Player and your Now Box) to other HDMI-ports on your TV.

No matter which input is selected, the audio will play from the soundbar if you set it up correctly in your TVs settings.

Kd65xd9305 is my tv and 4k bluray player is ubp-x800. My soundbar is the ht-zf9. 

HDMI 1 is my bluray player 

HDMI 2 is my nowtv box

HDMI 3 is nintendo switch

Will blurays play surround sound types e.g.  Dolby atmos or Dolby digital  on the ARC connection? Or do i have to run a hdmi cable from my soundbar to the bluray player 'audio in hdmi' port ?
