Apologies but I can't find an appropriate board for this.
I have a Sony Smartwatch 2 and following a reset of my phone (budget Android, v9.0) I seem to have gained the Google Weather App ... I don't think it was there before but can't be sure. I am getting constant notification from this weather app and that is despite apparently uninstalling it from my phone and switching off notifications on my Smartwatch. Nothing I have tried seems to get rid of the damned thing and it is extremely frustrating since the message vibrates my phone (I'd want that for normal messages) so I always end up looking.
Does anyone have any idea how I can stop this thing?
Thanks
James

No worries mate, you can disable any app you needn't use, Settings >>> apps & notifications >>> get the app from the list then click the disable option.

Hi Cosmic,
Thanks for the answer but, as I said in my post, I've done that both on the watch and the phone (in fact it appears to be uninstalled on my phone).
Any other ideas?

Hi Cosmic,
I thought I had and I've just redone it. A few minutes ago I got another weather announcement 😞

Is it a preinstalled app, as in did it come with the watch or phone? cause those apps can't be removed, they're like a part of the software of the phone.

Hi Cosmic,
I think I've solved it by another reset of my phone and another reset of my watch. This time I didn't auto-reinstall any applications but am putting them back as needed; half-a-day later ... no messages on my watch.
Thank you very much for your help, especially as it was something very similar to your earlier suggestion that ended up solving it
