Satellite
Have just purchased a Sony OLED TV 2020 i.e. KD-48A9.
Using the built in satellite tuner and my satellite dish was able to successfully tune 909 channels.
However the satellite is not shown as a input I can select.
How do i view satellite channels???

Are you looking at the YouView UI at the moment?
In which case, you need to disable YouView in order to view programmes from the satellite tuner.
Press the [Home] button on the Sony TV remote control and:
Go to 'Settings'
Go to 'Channel Setup'
Go to 'YouView Setup'
Select 'Disable YouView'
Select 'Yes' to confirm

Ah; I take it you are on the YouView UI, then?
I have variously heard that how you disable YouView has changed on the latest sets, or that the method given ought to still work, but doesn’t always. But now this:-
https://support.youview.com/youview-on-sony/set-up/enable-disable-youview/
is ominous, where it says
Please note: It is not possible to disable YouView on newer Sony models
So you must be in the YouView UI; and either you can tune, but not watch, satellite TV - which would be a bit absurd - or there must be a way of watching it without disabling YouView.
Which we don’t know, and which is where we came in 😢
Lets ask a mod: @Peter_S how do we do this?
And while we are at it, what about recording, which used to also require that you disable YouView?

A couple of answers from the YouView Community. Take your pick....
https://community.youview.com/youview/discussion/comment/19006926/#Comment_19006926 says:-
On my KD43XH8196BU (2020) I can confirm that YouView can now be disabled via :
Home -> Settings -> Apps -> LiveTV & CatchUp -> Disable
You can however directly launch the Sony EPG from the Home screen via the "TV" app.
And https://community.youview.com/youview/discussion/comment/19007093/#Comment_19007093 says:-
It looks like more of an 'appy' co-existence. You can have your choice of Sony or YouView TV app without disabling the other. Just launch the app you want to watch TV with as you might launch Chrome or Firefox to access your favourite website.
Satellite and recording is in the Sony TV app, just launch that one.
It mostly sorts itself out in the setup process - tune via aerial, get YouView as the default TV app. Tune via sat, get Sony as the default TV app.
Fiddle with the settings and put whatever you want on the "TV" remote button.

Thank you royabrown2, all works fine now. Hopefully Sony will update the tv's with a Freesat app to better see the scheduled programs on satellite?

They have not seen fit to do so since launching Android TVs in 2015, so I wouldn’t hold your breath.... 😢
