Fantastic result no system freeze.
Freeview way better than youview for tv guide shame we cant have the catchup fuction watch from start in freeview.
So like pre 2005 sony still wont accept itv services and shoehorn youviews old system to get it. My old sony tv I had a ps3 to do this then youview box but now a fire stick since amazon dropped support for prime on the sony tv. Got it for £20 discounted as a sony user. Both tv and firestick have replaced my tv and youview box in my main bedroom.
So we have bbc app but no other catch up unless you downgrade to youview. So just got a 4k fire stick for this tv, again for £20 on black friday as its the same interface. It even allows watch from start on live tv stream.
Also the sony remove works with he fire stick
So sort of de smart the tv.
Just also upgraded my av amp from db798 to dn1080 with 4K main reason was single button power on. I had a power plug/ standby saver, which turned on the power to the tv then to connected devices, amp, ps3 ect using the sony remote power button. I had to change to a different one that keeps the power on for the tv during standby, but this tv in dark scenes does not draw enough power so it powers off the connected devices.
For some reason since the upgrade I cant have both tv and audio out / optical sound. Also bit annoying devices going on and off. So dumping the power plug. The av amp is fairly old no HDMI.
Now connected and HDMI ARC with single remote control auto power on/ off and volume. Nice to have a tv screen interface no on hands and knees in front of the amp. Sounds well improved guess with changes in codecs over the years well 15.
