KD-55XF9005 Randomly take over a minute to turn on.
About half of the time the TV turns on instantly from the Sky remote(just turning on the Sky Q box), Sony remote or via Alexa on the Sonos beam.
The rest of the time it will turn on with the Sony remote or by a long press on the Sky remote power button but takes just over a minute to turn on! It will not turn on by Alexa or other HDMI devices.
when it takes a long time I get SONY then coloured dots which turn into Android.
Its as if it has been rebooted by a long press on the Sony remote.
it is completely random and is not affected by how it is turned off! It is running the latest firmware.
Any ideas?

I got the exact same issue.
Android 8 on Sony TV's started this issue. Sony states that they have fixed this issue.
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00223423
The problem is not solved and i would say that it has alot to do with the "HDMI ARC std" which seems to be used and modded by suppliers. Sonos for instans seems to send a Deep sleep signal to the TV after a few hours and for some reson this causes Android 8 to crash. This results in the reboot an prolonged startup of the TV.
The big question that i have (my xf9005) barely a year old should I try to get a new one because mine is faulty?
Should i wait and hope that Sony or Sonos fixes the issue if anyone recognises the issue to begin with?
The problem does not exist on Android 7, i had before my sonos a Sony MT-HT500 Soundbar wich did not cause this issue. Though this soundbar has a poor motherboard so after 8month it is in for repair a second time for the exact same problem.

Same issue here with a XD-8505. TV does the full android reboot when turning it on with the remote.
Seams like it's related to ARC, but it was working without issues before an update that came about a year ago.
I can test connect the soundbar with an optical cable, but I'll guess I will loose the ability to control the soundbar via the TV remote.

Have you checked the support page of the TV for the latest software version? From the model number snippet you attached, I think it may be v5.435.

A long press on the Sony remote power button (>5 seconds) will soft reset the TV.
It sounds like this is what is happening when you long-press the Sky remote.

It wasn’t the long press scenario, it was the ARC connection to my Sonos beam, it’s connected using the optical input now and as been fine for a few months.
I had a software update a week or so ago so I may try the ARC again.
