Android 7.0 (Nougat) Update - Discussion Thread
I just read about the upcoming Nougat update for (US?) sony TVs, for example the KDX8300D.
Any idea if this will also happen at the same time for the (UK?) XD83, and if so if this will fix the 5.1 issues?
Thanks!

Im positive that 7 is higher than 6. 7 is also supposed to be a lucky number.

I think the poster wanted to know
if Android 7 (Nougat)
is better than Android 6 (Marshmallow)???
id really like to know too
i want to put Nougat on my TV (KDL43W809CBU)
but it's not ready yet
and I don't want to brick it.
is the video app any better or improved too?
i use MK Player because
it has thumbnails,
and the length of video time, e.g. 1:42.32
and the full name of video title
wish it has resolution too e.g. 1920x1080 !!!!!
picture in picture is worse than previously (on my KDL-40HX753 model less button presses)

Yes, that's right. And there is no answer for now.
I want to know why should I make update to android 7. Just for fun?
I'm just reading here about the problems with new android and no positive things at all.
That's why I asked this question, but obviously there is nothing better than the android 6.

Do a facotry reset! It's always the best to do when doing major upgrades

Quite ironic we don't have Nougat
but Oreo is nearly here.
Android TV is a shambles
strange how how every TV make is different
so rollout only goes to certain TV's
normally in the order of
how much people paid for them
and how recent that was.
Strange coincidence????

No, normal practice. Were you sold the TV with promises that it would get an update? Any update?
