Transferring photos to iApad

I am using an A7III camera. I have tried to transfer photos from my SD card to an iPad using a lightning cable. However the Import photos dialogue box does not open, and I am unable to transfer images this way. This method of file transfer does work with my Nikon images. I am able to transfer Sony images using the "send to Smartphone" function. However this will not work when I do not have a wifi connection. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Irvin5,

I don't think the camera supports transferring pictures to an iPad using a cable. The only method mentioned in the Guide is sending via Wi-Fi.

A workaround you can try is to connect the camera to a Wi-Fi hotspot generated by your iPad, then try the same wireless transfer method. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's worth a shot.

Sony has an app for this, Imaging Edge Mobile. It allows you to connect the iPad to the camera and transfer photos. That’s what they claim anyway, I’ve never actually had to do it yet!

hope you get sorted...

I have just purchased a DSC-WX350 and I have tried to set Up the direct photo transfer using Play Memories following the instructions to the word and it simply doesn’t work. Any suggestions....I am not tech savvy so would need step by step instructions.

Hi

On the ipad pro you can use the USBC to USBC cable, connect to the A7iii straight to the iPad.  Obviously you need a new gen iPad with USBC conenctivity.
