Hi, I just bought a sony a7iii camera with a 35mm lens. I used to have a Olympus em1 mk2 which is a micro four thirds camera so with a lot smaller sensor. The evf and view of images was perfect in that camera.
Is it me or can anyone see the sensor grid (if thats what it is) in the evf either when reviewing images or even when composing your shots via the evf ? I can certainly see a very small grid pattern at the background of my images in the evf. This is obviously not seen when images are uploaded so it's definitely something to do with the evf or sensor.
I've looked on youtube and other sites but never seen if this has been mentioned before hence my forum postings. Is there something I've done to my settings? I've never had a full frame camera so not sure if this is what all full frame cameras view as.
Hope you can help.... Gary
Hi all,
Can anyone answer this query for me. All I need to know is if any other Sony a7iii users can confirm if this is the usual with the evf and sensor on the camera. The forum is showing that 127 views of this post have been made surely some of you are a7iii users? I'd be grateful if you could possibly confirm... Gary
Hello @Glambe,
I assume you simply can see the pixel grid of the electronic view finder, since it definetly has a lower resolution than the back display.
It is the same effect you can see when wearing VR-headsets, since by magnifying a screen trough a lens, you can make the pixel grid visible (google "screen-door-effect).
