PC does not recognise my camera

I have a A7 MK3 and am trying to update the software.  My windows PC does not recognise the camera when connected with the USB originally supplied with the camera. What can I do? Phil

is your camera on or off upon connecting it?

I think I have solved the problem in as much as changing the cable has done the trick. Phil
