Hi
Does anyone know if there is any likelyhood of this function being included in any future Alpha cameras?
I currently own an A7III, I'm mostly happy with it but am probably going to have to move over to Panasonic due to the lack of this feature. I'd rather not, and I really don't want to make the leap only to find that the A7SIII comes out and includes it!
However, I can find very little mention of clear scan on forums, maybe there is not enough demand.
I'd be interested if anyone has heard any rumours.
Hi dajacks14,
I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.
Thanks,
Pascale
Thanks Pascale
I'd love to be able to stay with Sony, I have some investment in Sony FF glass, but I don't hold out much hope.
Hopefully I'm being overly pessimistic!
Hi Manolo
Thanks for replying, the link seems to just say that the feature does not exist on current models.
Not sure that was your intention.
David
In the only answer to that discussion there is the suggestion to use the Shutter Priority mode to "remedy" the problem, he just wanted to be a suggestion for those occasions when this could prove useful

Hi Manolo
Just looked again! The feature I'm after gives finer control over shutter speed/angle when used in Movie mode, simply setting the shutter speed below 1/100th is not the solution to my issues unfortunately.
When in movie mode the shutter is usually set at 1/50th (when fiming at 25fps) and is locked at that setting.
In order to prevent screen flicker you sometimes have to set the shutter to some strange setting ie 1/51.8 or 1/63.5
Thanks anyway.
