I see that when you add a lens adpter like a sigma MC-11 You're AF illuminator, does not work and I can understand this as the lens attached to the adapter will get in the way of the beam. But does this also switch of any signal to the hotshoe mount, because when I attach a Godox X1Ts trigger it will not give any AF illumination?.

Hi Captianjack,
Welcome to our community!
I tried to look into that for you and from what I gathered I don't think the issue is related to the hotshoe, but rather an issue with the Sigma adapter. The lens you use may need TTL information (Through-the-lens metering) from the lens and the sensor to adjust the flash. So, if the this information cannot be processed by the camera due to the Sigma ring, then the flash trigger cannot give AF illumination either.
Hope this help
