Upgraded to new phone and trying to recover app layout but as the 10 doesn't support Transfer Mobile, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this.
No option in Drive either, no way to restore other than when setting up phone?
Hi @Coops78, let me see if I can help out here.
If you want to transfer data from your old phone to your new one, I suggest that you use Googles backup & restore-function. This way you will be able to transfer mail, calendar, contacts, applications, setting, call history as well as images, videos, music and other document files.
In order to backup your data to your Google account on your XZ, find and tap Settings > System > Backup. Please note that if you have already set your Xperia 10 up, you will need to do a factory reset on your Xperia 10 in order to gain access to the setup menu again. When prompted in the setup guide to copy apps & data, tap NEXT followed by choosing A backup from the cloud or A backup from an Android phone. Both options allow you to restore data from Google Drive.
I hope that helped, let me know if you have further questions!
Hi Martin,
I have recovered all of my data however it is the App layout that I wanted to couple to save dragging 200 items manually.
Only way it seems you can do is through Xperia Mobile Transfer which the 10 does not support?
I see, thank you for clarifying, @Coops78!
In that case I am afraid that you have to do it manually. This due to the fact that Xperia 10 and all other 2019 models use a completely different launcher than previous Xperia models with a new kind of app drawer.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
So I have got a new sony 10 and I can't transfer my entire setup from my ZX1? If apple can have a simple transfer system when a user gets a new iphone you'd think the genius' at Sony could provide one for loyal users. Well that xperia 10 is going back to the shop. Well done Sony
