Hi @simon1207, welcome to our forum!

You can enable Wi-Fi calling if you follow the instructions below and all the requirements has been fulfilled.

Open up the Phone application > tap the menu button (three vertical dots) > Settings > Calls > Wi-Fi Calling. Tap the switch beside Off to enable Wi-Fi Calling.

The requirements for Wi-Fi calling to be available can be found below.

  • you have to use a phone that supports Wi-Fi Calling.
  • your operator and subscription (incl. SIM card) must support Wi-Fi Calling for the device model you're using.
  • depending on operator, your phone must sometimes be operator-branded and/or use operator-customised system software.
  • your phone must be in range of a Wi-Fi network.

It's also your network operator decides if VoWiFi/Wi-Fi Calling is enabled or not in your device.

I hope that helps and if you can't find the setting, get in touch with your network operator for more information!

the pic can't show, i don't know why. my phone model I3223. my sim card was working in my old xperia xz1 compact. so i think the problem is not with the sim and carrier. i think the problem is the firmware doesn't have wifi calling feature installed.

Hi again @simon1207!

The picture will not show until a moderator has approved it, but I can see it now and that there is no setting to turn on Wi-Fi calling for you.

The Xperia 10 Plus supports Wi-Fi calling and for further information about the feature and why it's not available in your device, you will need to get in touch with your operator and they will be able to provide you with information on why it's not available as I don't have a list of which operators supports this feature on our different models in all markets.

Keep in mind that it's your network operator decides if VoWiFi/Wi-Fi Calling is enabled or not in your device. I don't know the exact process behind what an operator does to have this feature activated in one of our devices, but if it worked with an Xperia XZ1 Compact, they should have the means to get in touch with Sony if needed.

Let me know if you received an interesting reply from them! Slightly_smiling_Face

my carrier is T-mobile, i call them last week, they say my account is good, and my wifi calling is actived. because xperia 10 plus is not T-mobile phone, so they can't give me any support of that. they tell to contact sony tech support. sony tech support tell me to contact my carrier. so....disappoint

Hi again @simon1207, sorry for the late reply.

I'm not super familiar with how it works in the US as I'm not situated in that region and I know it's a bit different there compared to at least the Nordics when it comes down to operators and devices.

In the Nordics where I'm situated, some operators used to have a requirement tha the device was bought directly from them to be able to use both Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE, this later on was changed and only the software needed to be customized for the Nordic region, but the device could have been bought from a retail without any subscription. Based on the reply you received from T-Mobile, it does sound like the device needs to be bought from them/supported by them, to be able to use all the services that they support, such as Wi-Fi calling.

For your second question, yes the Xperia 10 Plus supports Wi-Fi calling.

I think the best thing to do now is that you get in touch with my colleagues in the US as they know more about the operators in the US and if there are any limitations that I'm not aware of, but I do believe that if the device is not supported by T-Mobile, you will not be able to use all the services that they offer. On the link below you can find the phone number to the support in the US and you can also send them an Email or open up a chat session, if you prefer that.

Let me know if you receive any additonal information!

Honestly frustrated with BT, one operator said "This should definately work, I set one of these up the other day" another says "Wifi calling not available on theis phone with BT" Slightly_frowning_Face
