Hi,
I have the Xperia 10 - when you press the volume up/down buttons on the side it adjusts the media volume - even when you are not playing media. To access the ring / notification volume, you then need to open the settings (which takes a few seconds) and adjust in there. I rarely want to adjust the media volume - is there a way to set the volume buttons to always be for the ring / notification, or relative to the function the phone is doing when it's pressed (ie. if it's playing media at the time, then adjust media volume, otherwise, adjust ring & notification) - or even to bring up all options in the small volume adjuster that pops up? Really annoying that it's so hard to adjust the ringer volume.
Thanks.
Hi,
I believe it cannot be changed and is part of Google's design for android.
What you can set is the double push on the power button.
- nothing
- launch Google assistant
- launch the camera
You can also set the power button to end a phone call.
It absolutely drives me up the wall !
On my previous Xperias, the side button always controlled the volume - nothing to do with "media".
Now I have to press that button, then press the 3 dots, then enter my phone pin, & THEN adjust the ring slider. I have to do this at least 10 times a day to turn my ringer on & off. Who on Earth thought this was a good idea?
And now, with a VERY annoying Android update, the volume sliders are awful. Grrrrr !!
