Hi!
Now I seen many responses about overheating when using camera app and videopro apps.
For ex here https://www.realmicentral.com/2022/06/07/does-the-sony-xperia-1-iv-have-overheating-problems/
And a few videos on youtube for ex this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bk-yzaGm8Xo&t=615s
Ive seen a lot of people on Reddit to that has the problem. Is this something you guys are looking into?
I have a IV and im not sure now if I want to keep it if I cannot use the camera.
Same here mine overheated constantly, not messing around returned it today as not fit for purpose
Flagship phone at the price it’s at shouldn’t have these issues
I've today started the return process with my network provider. The phone become more unresponsive by the day due in to over heating. Apps close randomly, camera won't even open half the time. Such a shame 😞 Sony's support has been fecking useless.... They where pretty rude when spoke to them again this morning regarding the issue.
@Sugarplum182That there. That is a big con. This will be the most advertised feature of the handset. If you cannot use it straight out the box then I'd return it straight away if you have the option (I mean you pay their premium tag). Try to push them to speak to someone else, as they will try their best to avoid any returns.
Seems that the new firmware did not solve it... https://youtu.be/YUvQOSRdTzQ Im in EU and it seems we dont get any updates at all hehe. Maybee sending out them with china post?
Well!!!! According to support the phones performing as expected! Needless to say I replied asking when the advertisment for the free hand warmer was?!? Didn't get a reply tho 🤣
Feel this is going to be a long exhausting battle.....
Have the Sony support no internet??? This is hilarious...
@Sugarplum182It is what I've been saying this far. You point them to a problem and they reject it stating basically 'that's how the device performs' or the device is working as it's been designed to and there is no faults with the device. They have been using this nonsense of a response for years, for other Sony branded products as well.
What cracks me up is, on their email they state 'you can continue to use the device without the risk of burn or injury'. - No, you cannot continue to use the device because it won't let you.
They are well aware that the Snapdragon is a burner and they can't do anything else other than sympathize and tell you that you won't get burns lol.
From the reports I see online by the people who've been in contact with Sony is that they're still checking this one actually with no updates about the camera issue. Regarding the overheating sadly they did say it is normal due to the new chip, ugh!
