No messaging after most recent update

After the most recent update i cannot recieve any textx messages from anyone and my wife has the same phone hers text messaging worked until she did the update as well we have the the XA Ultra F2313 have alraedy cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled message app,  clear history, and am considering a factory reset but do not know if this undoes an update. Any help would be appreciated.

can you check your network settings if they are configured properly? try to reinsert the sim or use another sim. make sure you have the network type set to what is supported by your network provider

or try to perform software repair using Xperia Companion
