When I connect a Panasonic DV Camcorder (NVDX 100) via i.link to the PC, the camcorder will not be recognized. Does anybody has idea what to do. Thanks in advance?
When you plug the i.Link cable into the camera and then into the VAIO, does the operating system making a sound to announce the arrival of new hardware?
Be sure your camera is in VCR (VTR) mode and is powered from an AC outlet.
Once the OS realises there is a camera connected you can then use DVGate or MovieShaker to work with the camera.

Thanks Eddie,
my problem seems to be of a different kind. The OS does not make an sound when I plug in the cable. It simply doesn't recognize the new hardware
