Hi all,
I took delivery of a new GRT996ZP yesterday and are unhappy with its condition. It was new (box sealed) direct from Sony.
1) 1 dead pixel
2) evidence that the packaging of the leads, psu etc already opened
3) 3cm long mark (which rubbed off with a lcd screen cloth) on the centre of the lcd
Now under the UK Distance Selling Regulations I am entitled to a refund or replacement within 10 days if not completely satisfied with the goods...?
Would any UK user care to comment?
Neildo.
I had a dead pixel on my new rig but SONY didn't care to entertain my complaint. As such my next laptop will NOT be a VAIO, more likely a TOSHIBA...

Yeah, no worries. Its being replaced without any hassle.
I opened the seal on the inner box so that just proves that the Sony employee packaging it in the factory was having a bad day or somehow its a refurb thats been in the Sony infrastructure for a while...
I must admit that the new lcd screens are amazing compared to the GRX 16" lcds....
Ah good news - because I know some firms will only give you 24hrs to declaire a package has been tampered with.
