hi...i have a J108i Cedar,
i noticed that in settings->connectivity->usb->advanced-> internet access there is an option -OFF option -Internet via Phone and - via computer....
i tried to set this up like 20 times on feew computers and not 1 worked... so i ask is this even posible....pliz hlp
p.s. am not trying to use the phone as a modem so my comuter can go on internet but to use the computer so my phone can go on internet
Solved! Go to Solution.
In order for the phone to be able to use the computers internet connection you need to share your computer's internet connection (the wireless connection, not the one that is displayed when you connect the phone).
When you share an internet connection in Windows, Windows will however set that interface to 192.168.0.1 which will not work with your current setup in the router. Setting the router to use 192.168.0.x (except 192.168.0.1) and reserve 192.168.0.1 for your computer in the routers DHCP-table should solve the problem but if you are unable to do that we can unfortunately not provide any solution.

ok... good link but still it gives me nothing.. so this can be the prbolem
when i conect my phone a new lan network appears it gets limited or no conectivity error (no ip) i see he cant get an ip, i shared my internet conection before but it disconect my computer from internet or am doing it wrong
so this is the setup... i got a wireless router i connect to it by wireless on my computer, so when i share my wireless connection it changes its ip to 192.168.0.1 and that disconects me from the network becouse we have other ip's like 192.168.2.2 is my router (sry this i cant change... bloody router) so am asking do i need to share my wireless network or the network that appears then i connect my phone? and what ip do i need to give to the new network becouse it cant get one from dhcp....

all glory to the great Markus
I try to connect via a PPPOE. How should I set the IPs in order to make it work? It seems that on "obtain an IP address automatically" nothing happens.
The shared connection should the pppoe connection or the network?
[windows 7, J108i]
It should be enough to share an IP address and I recommend you use DHCP instead.
PPPOE is not even supported so you should look for other options.
What exactly do want to do?
Well, i have a PPPOE connection ("rds") and a local area connection (called "net"). I use them when browsing on the internet on my computer.
when I connect the j108i to the computer, another local area connection ("sony") appears.
I want to have access to the internet on the phone and I was hoping that this might be possible by sharing the "net" network. The error I receive on the phone browser is: "incorrect URL entered. please enter correct URL". The same page obviously works when the USB cable is not connected and I access it via the mobile internet (vodafone).
You say that it is not possible to use "rds" or "net" to share internet for "sony"?
I don't have a router and I'm not an experimented user
Have a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126
My colleague Johan posted this link in a different thread talking about the same thing.

Hope it helps.
Nope, it did not work, although I tried all combinations; but it's not the end of the world.
Thanks!
