cashback

On November 26 I saw Sony camera cashback activity from currys, so I decided to buy a Sony digital compact camera. Registration and application for cash back activities were conducted on the official website on 11/26/2017. Because it is purchased online, there is no paper invoice. The first email replied by sony told me that they did not receive a valid invoice (12/05/2017). I found the electronic version of the invoice from the mailbox. So I sent that to Sony. I thought this time should be able to get cash back, but after two weeks, the email I got from sony said that I missed the deadline to participate in cash back activities. I immediately sent another e-mail and call the relevant staff. The answer was that they did receive the mail but the invoice could not be opened. I went to the local currys shop and got the receipt, So once again I sent out the required documents for the event on December 21, unfortunately on January 9, 2018, they notified me that it was too late to participate in the event. The reason is more interesting, they did not receive any email on 21th. . . Ha ha. . . The email I sent out is still in my mail box, E-mail sending status is successful. How could they not receive my email? The cash back activity seems a joke for me. Share my experience for you, sad and disappointed!:angry_devil:hope you can get the cashback.

Hi i emailed sony cashback office with clear photos of my proof of purchase and my serial number when i bought the camera.

A couple days later i recieve an email saying the proof of purchase was not "clearly scanned" even though I've viewed it multiple times on different devices and see no problem.

I was told to Reply to that email within 10 days to rectify the situation. I immediately sent a follow-up email with photos attached of the proof of purchase up close.

It has now been 9 days and had no reply, further researching online and alot of people are claiming it is a scam.

Hopefully this is not the case, any help will be appreciated, thanks Luke

Hi Lee,
I doubt you’ll get confirmation from anyone in this community but looking on the Sony cash back FAQ page there is a contact number listed, it might be worth giving them a call between the hours of 9am-6pm Monday to Friday..

Hi I am also experiencing problems with Sony and trying to get Cashback on my products. I purchased the Sony A7 Mark II alongside a Carl Zeiss 24-70m. No one at Jessops informed me that it needed to be claimed by a certain date. Very disappointed at Sony- it took me an hour to try and navigate around the site to even find this feed. Can someone at Customer Relations or anyone from Sony, please get back to me. Thank you,

Hi millyjames,

Welcome to our community!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Sony cashback campaign. I've read many reports from many customers about their experience with the cashback campaigns. Usually, customers don't provide the needed documents as Sony requires them which delays the whole process. According to Sony, for the document to be considered as a valid proof of purchase or a VAT receipt, it needs to have the following information:

- Retailer name.

- Date of purchase.

- Your details.

- Product details.

- Amount paid ( including VAT ).

- VAT number/ Invoice number.

Could you make sure that you're providing a document that meets those requirements? If not, it's your right as a customer to go back to your retailer and ask them to email you a copy of the VAT invoice so you can forward it to Sony.

Regards,

Batee5

Thanks for you response ,

I have deleted the post  i made which you replied to because the error was mine, i sent in the wrong document and in typical style shot my mouth off before checking, just having a bad day that day....the process to collect cashback does feel a little intimidating and could be organised a little better but im pleased to say i recieved cashback from Sony. Thank you

I got my cashback several months ago, this is a late feedback. if there is something wrong with the cashback do not hesitate to contact with the staff, they will help you to solve the problem. telephone them to check the documents you provide whether can meet their requirements.smile:

if you purchase the camera online, currys will send you the electronic invoice via email. that is the document sony needed. the invoice contains the information about total vat and vat no. etc.
