Purchasing a Sony Alpha 7 III camera with the 4.0 upgrade

Hi, I want to purchase a new Sony Alpha 7 III with the 4.0 upgrade already installed. How do you confirm the software version of the camera, new, boxed. What serial numbers confirm the software version installed.?

If the camera is new it is probable that it will not have the latest firmware installed. It is very easy to install the latest firmware on Sony cameras and lenses. I have done it several times with no problems as the instructions on the webiste are very clear. Just take your time and make sure that you understand what is written.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Its just so , so, much easier if the big upgrade is installed from new. Manufacturers dont state a bit of hardware has been altered to help the upgrade. Therefore, it would be really kind of Sony to state the serial numbers of the new alpha cameras with the upgrade. SONY TECHNICAL please could you help. Thanks.

Surely getting any A7iii and installing the upgrade is far easier than chasing down specific serial numbered models?
