Hi
I'm the owner of a Sony A7iii and wanted to use the Imaging Edge app on my iPhone 8 Plus to act as a remote.
I run the latest app version, the camera has the latest firmware and my iOS is updated (13.1.2).
When trying to connect, this is what I do:
1. Go to "Menu" > Network1 > Ctrl w/ Smartphone
2. Click on "Connection" and to connect using password
3. On my phone, I choose the direct connection to my camera in "Settings" > Wifi
4. Enter the password (even though my phone keeps forgetting the password every time)
5. Connect to the WiFi
5. Open "Imaging Edge" on my phone, where it says I'm NOT connected to a camera or the WiFi.
Tried connecting using the QR code as well, but every time I try to join it fails. I get to the stage where the camera on my phone detects the QR code, and I say "Yes" – but then it just fails and disconnects.
Haven't had any luck googling for the past 2 weeks to solve this, so hope anyone has a clever answer.
Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I would suggest reinstalling Imaging Edge Mobile and try to reconnect again. Could you also let me know the outcome?
Best wishes,
Sean
I’m having this issue too. I cannot connect my iPhone (running on iOS 13.1.2) to my Sony QX10. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app, scanned the QR code, tried NFC, tried to enable location settings but nothing is working. Beyond frustrating, especially as I’m on a trip and cannot shoot now.
