I purchased an Alpha a6300l kit from Argos online, just to make you aware that the online reciept that Argos provide
will not be accepted by Sony as proof of purchase, Argos will post a reciept but Sony have only given me 10 days to provide proof, Argos tell me up to 14 days to get the reciept, Only bought the camera because of the cashback.
Looks like I wont be getting the cash back, #GUTTED
my advice, dont buy a camera from Argos online.
Surely this is illegal, ..if they advertise something, they should honour it. Try putting your problem through a website called Resoiva, it sorted Currys out with a problem I had
Hi Griff,
From my experience, all Sony needs in a receipt to qualify is the model number, a matching date, and a VAT number. alongside a picture of the serial number on the camera. Also, one of the terms is that 30 days need to pas from the date of purchase before a claim can be made anyway. I'm not sure about Argos specifically, but if they say they need 14 days to provide a VAT invoice then you will still be covered after the fact. And the final date to apply is the 2nd of November 2018.

Thanks for the replies, Sony won't answer my emails now, will try resolva to try and get a soloution.
Thanks again
Tom.
good luck.
I am hoping it won't be a problem with John Lewis as you can download a VAT receipt by logging in to your online account and clicking on the relevant order. At top right there is an option to click on VAT Receipt. I saved it as a pdf and will submit this when my 30 days are up. It includes the full details of the camera.
Hi. How did you get on? I'm in the same situation, Sony wouldn't accept my order confirmation from Argos!
