Hi there,
I understand the A7iii has the e-mount format. Is it true that Sony cameras have just the 2 ( a and e mounts)?
Also, I'm wanting to use this lense on the A7iii:
nikon af vr-nikkor 80-400mm 1:4.5-5.6D lens
For footage and stills, what is the best adapter to use?
Thank you

Yes

?
This (I think)
Nikon AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 D ED VR (2001)
Or:
Nikon AF-S 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR

Thank you Manolo,
If the updated version was released in 2013, I think the lense I own is the 2001 release. The first edition unfortunately.
Would you recommend me purchasing an adapter, and which is the best?
Or should I sell it?
I don't want to buy the best, most expensive adapter knowing I could have sold and bought one of Sony's lenses.
Thank you
For the new version yes, but I'm not finding any adapter declared compatible with this lens. Even, if you want to buy one from Nikon F to E-mount you will not be able to use any automation, so you just have to choose an economic model and have some fun...
Manolo
Maybe you do not want to spend money on it, even if the lens has its "value"...

That's a shame! Thank you Manolo
I was looking for something cheaper and I was going to show you this article (Vello, $ 89), but I think you were the first to answer :
