Anyone know why Sony skipped the great idea of apps for the newer cameras?

Bougt a lot of them for my a7RII and rally got usd to use them and loved using them. So great and now Sony ditched the hole idea, but why?

I don't know why they have removed the apps,

but maybe if enough A7rIII owners joined in on this thread

then Sony may at least review their decision?
