The A7 series cameras have a reputation for delaminating rear screens; I have myself experienced this on both my A7R and A7RII. This is unsightly, affects re-sale value and gives a poor impression of what are otherwise high-quality pieces of kit. Does anyone know whether SONY has made alterations for the new MKIII versions of the A7 series to avoid this occuring? I would ask SONY themselves but there appears to be no facility for contact us on the website.
Hi Sparky,
We will look into this and get back to you when we can.
Best wishes,
Ed
Hi SparkyF986,
I guess this de-lamination is developed based on the conditions the camera is being used under, and not a common fault with the camera.
I'd suggest using the Sony screen protector PCK-LG1 it might help saving the screen. On the other hand, I don't think there is a common issue with all three models you've mentioned.

Hi. Thanks for taking an interest in this. You may be right about it not being a common problem; it would be interesting to do a survey of Sony camera users on that. My own experience is 2 out of 2 and I have certainly heard of other cases but that make it statistically significant.
I do use a screen protector but it does not cover the whole screen, just the visible section of it. I think the delamination occurs because the glue is breaking down and allowing air to enter around the edges of the screen.
