Sony XPERIA 10 IV - no HEVC/ H.265 playback

My XPERIA 10 IV is not able play videos in the HEVC/H.265 codec format.

Of course I tried different video sources and a number of players: MX player, VLC media player. These players can open the video file but playback is either jittering very badly or mostly delivering a frozen frame.

Did Sony not include H.265 hardware encoding into this phone?? If so, this would be very dissapointing. Even my old Sony XPERIA XZ1 Compact could handle even 4K H.265 videos fine.

I tried to check the specs of the phone and I couldn't find that format, so I do believe it's not supported. But, I'll try to check again and will let you know if I found anything different.

On the official Sony Homepage, the specs are clearly given:

So H.265 is clearly included in the specs, but so far as my tests with the phone went, it seems to be not supported.
