Hi,
I have just got an Xperia 10 ii.
When I have a video call, Duo etc, the caller hears themselves echo back. I have not had this problem with any other phone.
Some people have said it's the background noise cancelling that causes the problem, but there is no way of turning this off on the Xperia 10 ii as far as I can see.
Can anyone help?
Hi,
Can you check if this happens regardless of the internet connection you have, whether it's data or Wi-Fi and if it happens on all Wi-Fis, cause it might just be that either one of the upload and download speed is less than it should be.
If that's the case you can forget the Wi-Fi connection and reconnect, also check the mic and speaker tests in the Sony Support app.
Hope this helps, cheers.
Same problem for me, brand new Xperia 10 II, and Google Duo and similar video calling apps have problem with echo for the other participants. For me the problem does not occur when calling "normally" and using speaker phone in the "phone" app.
Problem in video chat apps is still present when testing on different wifi networks and using 4G. Being connected to a network with excellent upload and download speeds does not help.
Hi, did you try to run the speakers and microphone tests in Settings > Support > Xperia tests to check if there is any issue with them?
Hello,
Yesterday bought Xperia 10 II,
And during video call in messenger, other person had an echo of himself, although I have no issues.
Never had this issue with my previous Xperia 10. Network connection is same (~30 Mbps - tested).
Got all updates, it is Android 11 now.
Can You, please, advice, what else can be checked ?
My last 3 phones were Sony and I don`t want to switch to other, because of that issue, which, if I understand correctly, is not fixed Yet, and I saw lot of complaints regarding this.
Thanks in advice
Hi there, i know that this issue usually happens with video or sound calls through applications that use internet. Sometimes, when the internet connection isn't stable from any of the sides, you start to hear echo during the call or you can find a delay in the call. In these cases, try to end the call and try again, try to change the internet connection from Wi-Fi to mobile data and vice versa But as long as they do not happen during the normal calls , it's probably because of the internet connection.
Hello EMS_MO72,
Thanks for replay.
Thing is, that I didn't had this issue with my Xperia 10.
I mean - in the morning everything were fine, but in the afternoon, after I got Xperia 10 II, suddenly, I have a network issues.
Not sure...
Yes, I understand your point, but does this issue happen with all of the calls through Messenger and Google Duo?
