Kdl-32ex520 sony bravia problems

i recently brought the above mentioned tv and been having two issues

1.through hdmi i get screen flickering now and again, tried diffeerent cables and settings but no real change in flickering

2.i have tried updating the firmware via a network but comes up with network error even though all network cecks are fine and net apps work to some degree (quite laggy) even though i have high speed net and can stream multiple devices and without lag. current firmware Pkg3.904gaa-0104 newest is PKG4.027AAA. i tried with usb but i keep getting usb connected please make sure usb is inactive before disconnecting then nothing happens and i have followed the instructions to the letter.
