I bought this TV from a friend. Really pleased with the tv, and have connected my Now TV box to it, but can't connect my Samsung Blu-ray player with the HDMI cable. The player also has a Digital Audio Out socket. Does this need to be connected? It wasn't on my old TV.

The TV recognises that something is plugged into the HDMI 1 socket, but the screen is blank. Really frustrating. Help!!!!

Hi there

When you plugged the sammy bluray player in, was the tv off? If not, switch all devices off from the wall for 30 seconds and try again - ensure the HDMI cable is correctly seated in the sockets. You wont need to connect an optical cable to the digital audio out, hdmi is fine as it sends both audio and video.

If that fails, you might want to reset the output resolution of the bluray player back to default or Auto. You will need to consult the bluray player manual for this - for the correct combination of buttons to press.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
