Sony KD-55X8505B keeps switching to 3D mode then back.

Hi all first post so please be gentle, I purchased my TV back in October 2014 and have been very pleased with it, my only gribe is that for sometime now it randomly switches to 3D mode then after about 5 seconds back to normal viewing.

I've been lucky and have never missed a goal whilst watching my football lol, but in truth really should sort this out It came with a 5 year warranty hence the lack of panick, but it's not to say the problem is not frustrating of which it is.

Is there a fix or is it faulty?

Hi there

In my experience with 'random' things, what appears random is actually not and hence there is something of a a common cause, its just figuring out what it is.

Firstly I would unplug everything connected to the tv, leaving onky the aerial cable and see how that goes, then slowly introduce devices such as blurays etc.

Alternatively, you could just switch 3D auto signal Off
