Tablet generally declining

Hi, I've had my tablet for about four years and have loved it. Recently, as in the last few weeks, I've noticed a decline in its ability to hold its charge compared to before. I know that it's rather old and It won't run as before, but there's a difference from having charge every three to four days to every single night, when I'm doing even less on it than I was before! Now my camera says it's stopped working, but it did a few weeks ago. I've got it in airplane mode most of the time and still it dies quickly. I don't want to factory reset as I don't think that will help either the camera or battery situation. There hasn't been a software update in over two years, which I've checked online using my Imei number. I know Sony no longer manufacturers tablets. But surely there should still be some sort of software care? As I think that might help!! Device info as follows:

FOUR year old battery not performing as good as when it was new ???????????

This is an old post, but yeah, lithium batteries will not retain charge as when new, any brand.
