Sony Vaio VPCEL2S1E motherboard question (supported cpus)

I have a sony vaio VPCEL2S1E and in future i plan to change the cpu.

I tried to find my motherboard specifications to see the supported cpus but i couldnt find which motherboard i have.

So,does someone know which motherboard i have or how i can find it or even the supported cpus for this.

Hi kostaks3 and welcome.

This model has a AMD Dual-Core E-450 APU so I guess any 40nm "Brazos" series processor should fit in the Socket FT1 ( BGA-413).

The CPU includes the AMD Radeon™ HD 6320 Graphics so you will have to take that into account. At the moment your E-450 is the top-of-the-range for this mobile socket so I don't think an upgrade is available to you.

Most Vaios have a Sony custom motherboard but I'm not sure if this is the case with the AMD models.

You mean that this is the best cpu for my laptop?

And i need to change the graphics card with the cpu?

I know that in laptops things are very complicated but give me your lights

For laptops, most graphics are preshared with the main memory(RAM). I guess the best option here is to find the best RAM module with shared graphics on it.

Hi kostaks3,

Yes. There does not seem to be any better CPU than the E-450 that will fit your motherboard. The E-450 APU was only released 4 months ago and is the most powerful available.

The APU combines the CPU and the GPU on a single die so you have to change both together (like available on the latest i3, i5 & i7 CPUs from Intel).

Quite honestly, there is nothing worth upgrading on this model. You could add an extra 4GB of RAM - giving you a total of 8GB - but this may not give any noticeable speed increase as the limiting factor will always be the processor which is OK for everyday computing but not for anything too demanding.

I assume that flogger12345 is refering to the new RAM modules as marketed by the inventor or the reusable envelope:smileywink:
