SVL2412Z1EB BIOS

Hi , I have a SVL2412Z1EB desktop with bios R0230T9 13/03/2013 and I would like to know if there is newer version as I am having trouble downloading updates of Windows 10 especially 20H2 tried 11 times. Any help would be appreciated.

The hardware isn't really made for Windows 10 and there are no updates anymore AFAIK.

I agree that it's a shame, and Sony largely doesn't recommend the update (not to mention the VAIO line being discontinued).

It should've actually been completely fine to use Windows 10, but now that Microsoft decided this will be the "last version of Windows". It will continue to be unsupported on more and more devices as time goes along.

So you can either stop updating and remain on your current version (if it works well for you) or downgrade to Windows 8/8.1 and keep it on that.

I thought about going back to Windows 8.1 but it was not allowed . I will stay with what I have got because it does what I need. But thankyou again for your thoughts.

You can try taking the product code from your current version (look online or contact Microsoft) and then use that to install and activate a fresh 8.1 image.

But this isn't necessary and a little too much work if you're already happy with what you have.

Sorry for late reply. Thanks for the suggestion but don't want to push my luck doing something I do not understand.

Windows 20H2 keeps trying to download which waste about 5 hours of computer time then starts undoing it all so infuriating , just started downloading again already.
