keyboard wont work on my vaio laptop vpccw1z4e please help

hi,

I have a vaio laptop VPCCW1Z4E and all of a sudden the keyboard wont work. I've tried to use an external usb keyboard and have exactly the same problem so I'm thinking this is a software issue can anyone help please?

my issue is that in order to do anything i need to get into the admin account, however i cant get past the password as the keyboard wont work.

there does apear to be a connection however as the space bar is acting as enter and the H key is working as backspace, 3 other keys also enter a dot into the password box but I havent worked out what this is.

The keyboard is working in the Bios perfectly but as soon as it loads windows it stops.

I've tried reverting to a previous date (cant go far enough back without password), and I dont want to do a factory reset as I have data I need on the laptop.
