Sony XDCAM PFF50DLA disc

Hello

I hope someone out there can help me.

I received the above disc but noticed that it came contained in a cartridge like shell with the disc inside. I couldnt play this format so thought about taking the disc out of the cartridge. I did so and found that i still couldnt play the disc on a dvd player - I know im a numpty.

I need advice on what to do now. Can i get an empty cartridge to put the disc i have or is there anything that will play the disc?

I feel like such a fool and hoping someone can help me out!

Hi Dave,

I don’t claim to know a lot about this but assuming you mean PDF50DLA, then what you have there is a Professional Disc media dual-layer 12cm (5 inch) rewritable optical disc designed for exclusive use with Sony Professional XDCAM range of camcorders. This is not compatible with a standard optical drive and needs some very expensive professional equipment such as the PDWU1 disk drive to be of any use.
