Cannot re-install PRS505 software

I have a problem re-installing the 505 s/w from disc. The s/w had stopped working yesterday so this morning I uninstalled it via Control Panel and tried to re-install from the original disc. All I eventually get is a message saying that "the installation wizard has been interrupted - please try again later".

Am using 64bit Win7

Hi Dean,

Not sure why you can't re-install the software from disc, but my suggestion would be to load the very latest version of the software from Sony's website I've included the link below)

I have a couple of reasons for suggesting this:

1. The software that came on disc with the PRS505 was 'eBook Library' - this has been superseded by Reader Library

2. 'Reader Library' has Adobe Digital Editions (the software that handles the digital rights management or copyright for purchased eBooks) embedded within it - so you don't have to separately install ADE as you used to with the old 'eBook Library' software

For additional help, have a look at a useful guide I found buried in all the Sony support pages: if you go to this address: http://support.sony-europe.com/contacts/email/email.aspx?site=odw_en_GB and then type Reader Library in the search box, if you then scroll down to the bottom result of the search to a PDF document on installation of a version of Reader Library - section 1 of this document (on software installation) might help (just ignore page 4 as this doesn't apply to your PRS505).
