I've had this sort of problem a very few (3/4) times, twice similar to what you describe.

On each occasion it has been a corrupt file of some sort [that's about all I know, I'm the resident tec-dunce compared to the experts on the Forum] and I solved the problem by chucking the thing out, and getting it from another [more "reliable/known "] source - except for one, which I'm still trying to source.

So, can you trust the source ? As you say, we all get stuff from all over, but my rule is once bitten, don't give 'em another chance.......

As most know, I'm not the greatest fan of the Reader software - which I'm presuming you used, or Adobe Direct - but the hardware is great, IMO.

Have you tried Calibre ? That's the kinde of "industry standard" spoken of most here and other Forums, and does most things very well.

I think - and Sony can correct me here prob'ly - but I believe the Reader software was primarily designed in conjunction with the Store, Sony's "answer" to Amazon - which we can't use, hint hint - and adapted from that start-point.

But don't chuck it 'cos the input's crap .......... could give it to me, or an equally good cause, instead !

Hi,

I am assuming that we all dont buy books from a true sourse and that on occasions we download from various sites on the internet.

I downloaded a book from the net and stored it on my computer. When I downloaded it onto the reader and started to read the book after around 12 pages the print size went from normal to microscopic and then back to normal a couple of pages on.

When you view the file on the main computer there appears to be no reduction in font size?

My question is has anyone else had issues similar to this or am I the lucky one LOL

Sony say there is nothing wrong with the reader and that the problem is a corrupt file download. I have removed the file and downloaded it again, but no difference.

Has anyone else had similer problems?

This is the second problem I have had with this piece of **** and it is so, so near to being put in the rubbish bin.

I would never recommend this rubbish machine to anyone.

SONY is definately at the bottom of my shopping list this Christmas worst £200 I have every spent.

Message was edited by: bakerman5555

Message was edited by: bakerman5555
