PRS 505 charger through mains

I've purchased a mains charger for my PRS-505 but this does not seem to work. Does anyone know if I have to do something special for it to work? I'm fed up waiting for the book to charge through the USB. Also don't want to keep the computer on all the time... Tx

It may depend on the type of charger you have.

I've a PRS-650 and have two USB wall chargers. One of them works and the other doesn't

A bit of a quiz, one charger is a Sony one, supplied with a Sony mp3 player. The other came with my HTC Desire mobile phone.

Guess which one works with my Sony reader..................??

thanks sehuxle. My charger is not a USB one. I got it off the internet when browsing for a 'mains charger for Sony PRS 505. I will try your trick and use one of my other USB chargers.

The only thing I've heard is that it's best to avoid anything i-Appley charger etc.. as they don't apparently "agree" with Sonys & you might have to take 'em to the doctors .......:smileysad:

Thnaks people - I decided to buy a new charger - this time with a usb connection. See if that works...
